My Design & Pricing Philosophy

In my 13 years of experience in web and graphic design, I’ve learned that there is no such thing as a cookie cutter client.  Every client is unique.  YOU are unique.   And your design should epitomize that.

My goal?  To collaborate with you to create a look that is truly yours.

That same design philosophy is reflected in my pricing model.

I don’t offer predefined packages or prices.  I strongly believe that, just like every client is unique, so are their needs, wants, and budgets.  So each and every project I take on is estimated according to those factors.

For website and design services, I provide:

  • Hourly rates, with a project cap.  What this means is that I estimate how much time your project will take based on the specifications you give me, and set a total project cost (or cap) based on that.
  • Close communication throughout your project to ensure we’re staying on budget.  I do not exceed your project cap without your explicit approval.   And there are no surprise bills at the end of your project.  (Because, really, who likes that?)
  • Up front, all-inclusive pricing for graphics and themes.  When your project calls for stock images, design kits, or premium templates and themes, they are included in your estimated price.
  • Discounted hourly rates for bloggers and small business owners.
  • Returning customer discount.

 

Can I get some sort of a ballpark figure?

Sure.  The prices below reflect some general starting points for my design work.  Actual services and prices will likely vary depending on your needs.  For a detailed estimate tailored to your specific project, please contact me.

  • Basic Blog design: {starting at $300}
  • Premium Blog design: {starting at $450}
  • Business website: {starting at $600}
  • Business website + eCommerce: {starting at $900}
  • Logo/Identity design: {starting at $200}
  • Blog header design: {starting at $150}
  • Blogger to WordPress.org conversions: {starting at $150}
  • WordPress.com to WordPress.org conversions: {starting at $100}

 

Do you give any sort of discount?

Absolutely!

If you order multiple services at the same time (like, say, a Blogger to WordPress conversion and a blog redesign), I will gladly provide a discount.

I also give a discount for many web and design services if you order your hosting through my Bluehost affiliate account, as well as a percentage discount for returning customers.

 

What if my budget is small?

I understand where you’re coming from.  (Hey, I’m a small business owner myself).

Because of this, I offer discounted hourly rates for bloggers and small business owners.

I’ve worked with budgets of all sizes, and I’d be happy to tailor your design needs to fit yours.  Do you have a specific budget in mind?  Please let me know up front, and we’ll work together to define what’s possible.  I’m also happy to work through your overall project in stages to fit your budget.

 

OK.  How much is this going to cost me?

I’m happy to provide a detailed estimate once I get a feel for what your needs are.  After you contact me, I’ll typically send you a design questionnaire, so I can learn more about your project and design goals.  Once I’ve received that, I’ll send you back a project estimate for you to review.
